Fundamentals of Physician Practice IT
This education module provides insight into group practice management of IT and how it relates to the other parts of the organization. Topics include an overview of the major elements of IT operations, skill sets commonly found, budgetary processes, systems acquisitions and project management. The module will cover the basic core systems found in physician groups including financial systems, payer communications applications, electronic health records, diagnostic systems, and health exchange technologies. Particular emphasis is placed on groups’ use of systems for patient care, consumer interaction, payer communications and the move toward interoperability and data analytics.
